Costumes. Community. Imagination.
Heroes inc. is the name of the costume group that I help found back in 2013. Originally founded by 5 members Rena (Wonder Woman), Len (Superman), Miles (Deadpool), Mike (Spiderman) and of course myself – the group pushed itself out onto Victoria British Columbia as a go to for a not for profit community support group. We started by doing Hospital visits for sick kids, library readings, and various other community events. Eventually charities and non-profits asked for superhero support that we gladly obliged to! It took a couple of years to find it’s footing but the group has definitely made its mark in the city 🙂
The group has evolved and changed over the years – but the one things that has remained constant is the groups willingness to help out at any and just about all community events! The group itself has always been big on it’s members selecting a single Character (wither it be a hero or a villain) and making it their own. Generally when a member is out in the community they can almost always know that the person under the mask is the same one that they saw the last time!
Heroes Inc. is a group of individuals who use our costumes to give back to the community through volunteering and entertaining both children and parents alike. Currently we are a small group of friends who are seeking ways to get involved in the community and our philosophy is that a smile on the face is all that we are after. No opportunity is too big or too small. From brief appearances to helping out with volunteering at an event, Heroes Inc. is here to lend a hand. All of our costumes are created by hand and owned by our volunteers.
Not only do we like to volunteer, but we also like to play. Look for us throughout the city at various community events we are always happy to snap a picture, sign an autograph, or search out the evil that may be afoot!
